Calvin Warren Diane Warren Helen Williams Calvin Warren AIKEN Calvin Warren, 63, 2276 Edgefield Highway, husband of the late Diane Williams Warren enter into to eternal rest on Monday, Oct. 1, 2013 at his home. He was born in Greenwood County and was a son of the late Robert Warren, Sr. and Beatrice Moragne Warren. He was a member of Mt Tabor Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon and was a graduate of Brewer High School Class of 1968.

After high school, he met and married Coressa Watts (Warren) and from this union two children were born. Employed with Monsanto Chemical Division for ten years, he also spent a number of years at Commercial Credit Corp. until he became an Independent Business Consultant, where he had a flourishing career. Calvin was affectionately known as the picture man because he loved to take family photos and always had great business ideas and opportunities to share with family and friends. He had an adorable smile and a kind word to impart to you and was always encouraging and supportive.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Dr. Eloise Warren and one sister, Hattie Pearl Carter. Leaving to cherish his memories are one son, Aaron Wayne Warren of Atlanta, GA; one daughter, Chantel Warren Stover of Spartanburg, SC; one stepson, Travis Robinson of Aiken, SC; one sister, Bernice W. Rhinehart of Alpharetta, GA; three brothers, Robert (Delois) Warren, Earl (Carolyn) Warren and Thomas Warren all of Greenwood, SC; three grandchildren, Calyx and Nylah Stover, Spartanburg, SC, Sophia Warren, Atlanta, GA; two step-grandchildren, Travis Robinson, Charlotte, NC, and Xavier Robinson, North Augusta, SC; and one aunt, Helen Geter of Greenwood, SC. Diane Warren On the morning of Oct.

1, 2013 the world lost a devoted mother, wife, aunt and friend. Mrs. Diane Williams Warren, 65, of Aiken, SC, joined hands and entered her Master's Kingdom along with her mother and loving husband. Mrs. Warren was born on November 14, 1948 in Edgefield, SC, to the now late Helen Weaver Williams and the late Jesse James Williams.

She was the second born of nine children. As a young girl, Diane joined the Bland Baptist Church in Johnston, SC. She later joined the Beulah Grove Church family in Augusta, GA, where she served faithfully until her death. Mrs. Warren was a graduate of W.E.

Parker High School, Edgefield, SC. She attended Claflin College in Orangeburg, SC, where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and was also inducted into the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Because of her excellence in education, she was a recipient of a Golden Apple Award in 2008. Although she retired from the Richmond County Public Schools after 30 years of teaching, she continued her career at the Allendale County School System. In addition, she taught at Jackson Middle School and North Augusta High School, where she later retired from the Aiken County School District, with a total of 42 years in education.

Mrs. Warren was united in marriage to Pervis Robinson and to this union a son, Travis Perdanni Robinson was born. She later united in Holy Matrimony to the late Calvin Warren of Greenwood, SC. Mrs. Warren was a dedicated mother and grandmother who enjoyed, along with her husband, spending quality time with family and providing daily care for her mother, Helen Williams.

Mrs. Warren leaves her cherished memories to many people who loved her. She is survived by her son, Travis Robinson, Aiken, SC; two stepchildren, Chantell Stover, Spartanburg, SC, Aaron Wayne Warren, Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Travis Robinson, Charlotte, NC, and Xavier Robinson, North Augusta, SC; three step- grandchildren, Calyx and Nylah Stover, Spartanburg, SC, Sophia Warren, Atlanta, GA; five sisters, Helen Evonne Williams, Villa Rica, GA, Gloria Allen, Aiken, SC, Sylvia (Jimmie) Minick, Mableton, GA, Deborah Heller, North Augusta, SC, and Pamela Williams, Alameda, CA; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Bernice Warren Rhinehart of Atlanta, GA; three brothers-in-law, Robert (Delois) Warren, Earl (Carolyn) Warren and Thomas Warren, all of Greenwood, SC; two aunts, Valeria (Luther) Daniels, Aiken, SC, and Christine (William) Collins, Denmark, SC; three goddaughters, Mrs. Chanda (Harold) McClain, Spartanburg, SC, Miss Lauren Williams, Alameda, CA, and Mrs.

Carol (Bruce) Yancee, Augusta, GA; a host of god-sisters and brothers (The Bush Family), cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Helen Williams On Oct. 1, 2013 Helen Weaver Williams, 89, entered into rest with her daughter Diane Williams Warren and son-in- law Calvin Warren. Mrs. Williams was a devoted grandmother, mother, wife and friend.

Mrs. Williams was born on September 19, 1924 to Etta Butler Weaver and Issac Weaver of Edgefield, SC. In December 1944, she was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Jesse James Williams. To this union nine children were born, three of whom preceded her in death. Mrs.

Williams graduated from Edgefield County Public Schools. At an early age, Mrs. Williams dedicated her life to Christ at Pine Hill Methodist Church in Saluda, SC. She later joined Willow Springs Baptist Church, Saluda, SC, and after marriage became a lifelong member of Bland Baptist Church, Johnston, SC. She was active within the church including singing in the choir, and serving on the Deaconess and Usher Boards.

Mrs. Williams, a loving mother, instilled in her children and grandchildren the value of having hard work ethics. She worked at Graniteville Company Vaucluse Plant and was a longtime Avon Representative in Edgefield County. With all of her work experience, her first love was her family. She was a devoted homemaker, providing her family with a loving place to call home.

Mrs. Williams leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Helen Evonne Williams, Villa Rica, GA, Gloria Allen, Aiken, SC, Sylvia Minick, Mableton, GA, Deborah Heller, North Augusta, SC, and Pamela Williams, Alameda, CA; one sister, Christine (William) Collins, Denmark, SC; one sister-in- law, Valerie (Luther) Daniels, Aiken, SC; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 5, 2013 at Beulah Grove Baptist Church, in Augusta, GA; Interment for Mr. and Mrs.

Warren will be in Mt. Tabor Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenwood, SC, and Interment for Mrs. Williams will be in Bland Baptist Church Cemetery in Johnston SC. Local family members will receive friends at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church from 5 p.m.-7 p.m.

on Friday evening, Oct. 4, 2013. A memorial service will be held for Mr. and Mrs. Calvin Warren on Sunday, Oct.

Courtesy of Parks Funeral Home, Greenwood, SC. Earl Andrews Earl Andrews, widower of Martha West Andrews, died September 24, 2013 at VA Norcal Healthcare System in Martinez, CA. Born in Greenwood, SC, he was the son of Hattie Mae Andrews and the late John Andrews. Earl attended public schools in Greenwood and accepted Christ at an nearly age. He was baptized at Macedonia Baptist in Greenwood.

He resided in Hayward and Pittsburg, CA for the past 30 years.He attended Seed of Faith Christian Fellowship in Pittsburg, CA until his health failed. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have known Earl knows he was a hard worker and a great family man. He served in the US Navy as a Boiler Engineer for over 28 years and earned a number of medals for his service in Viet Nam and other theaters. After retirement from the military, he began a second career as an Engineer for the Contra Costa County Hospital in Martinez, CA. Earl was a very devoted member of his family.

he loved to play golf and traveled to many exotic places. More importantly, he was a loving and caring son, husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend. Earl was preceded in death by a brother, John Thomas Andrews; grandchild, Keisha Marina; and a son-in-law, Kenny Adeosun. Earl leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Hattie Mae Andrews of Greenwood; three daughters, Jennifer Monica Balogun of Pittsburg, CA, Marilla Dee Adeosun of Hayward, CA, and Kathy Laurinda Andrews of San Leandro, CA; son-in-law, Rasaki Balogun; eight grandchildren, Dr. Natasha Marina, Seun Balogun, Gbenga Balogun, Kike Adeosun, Michael Adeo- sun, Morayo Balogun, May- owa Adeosun and Zachariah Adeosun.

Services will be held Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 2nd Damascus Baptist Church. Time of service is 2 p.m., with Bishop Emanuel Spearman officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. Remains will be placed in church at 1 p.m.

Vance Olin Boggs HODGES Vance Olin Boggs, 80, resident of 5515 Highway 185, husband of Marian Pilgrim Boggs, died October 3, 2013 at Hospice House. Born in Anderson County, January 14, 1933, he was a son of the late Olin Clayton and Maude Moore Boggs. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School and Diesel Engineering School in Memphis, TN.

He served in the US Army 7th Infantry Division in Korea during the Korean War and later served in the Army Reserve. Vance retired from Monsanto (now Ascending Performance Materials) with more than 27 years of service. He was a member of Hodges United Methodist Church, a life member of Bascomb Masonic Lodge No. 363 AFM, a charter member of the Order of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 272 and was a long time member of American Legion Post No.

20. Surviving, in addition to his wife of 58 years of the home, are two sons, Stephen (Julie) Boggs of Hodges and Scott (Jenny Lind) Boggs of Greenwood; two brothers, Johnny (Brenda) Traynham of Anderson and Larry (Beverly) Traynham of Liberty; grandchildren, Jennifer (Matt) Baker of Greenwood, Stephen (Marissa) Boggs of Simpsonville, Lauren and Ryan Boggs of Hodges and Kyle Wilson and Hunter Wilson of Greenwood; great-grandchildren, William and Caroline Baker of Greenwood. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Anzo Traynham Boggs. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev.

Charles Caldwell and Rev. Lamar Babb officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Henry Mitchell, Harry Nickles, Bryan Timms, Tony Davis, Bob Bishop, William Kinney and Larry Palmer. Honorary escort will be members of the Hodges One Stop coffee group.

Doris Burton Mrs. Doris Burton 78, of 117-B McKellar Court, widow of Marion Heller passed away on September 28, 2013 at Self Regional Healthcare.

She was born in Hodges, SC, November 15, 1934, a daughter of Ollie Burton and Clementine Wideman Burton. She was a member of Vision Ministries, where she served as Mother of the Church. Surviving are two sons, Donald Burton (Jessie) of Abbeville, SC and Dennis Burton of the home; one daughter, Brenda Williams (Ronald) of Greenwood; one brother, Lenon Burton of Greenwood, one daughter- in-law, Sandra Mathis Burton of Greenwood, 11 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services will held Saturday at 1 p.m. at Morris Chapel Baptist Church, with Pastor Chester Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Evening Star Cemetery. Mrs. Burton will be placed in the church at noon on Saturday. The family will receive friends at Vision Ministries on Friday from 6-8 p.m. Pallbearers and Flower bearers will be friends and family.

Cheezem MIAMI Jan Carson Cheezem, age 59, passed away Sept. 30, 2013 at the Baptist Hospital of Miami, FL. She was born in Charleston, SC, to the late James Austin Cheezem, MD, and Peggy Carson Cheezem. She graduated from Greenwood High School in 1971. She earned a BA degree in French History from Kirkland College, a Diplome a titre francais (now Masters) in economic policy from L'Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, and a JD with specialization in international legal affairs, from Cornell Law School.

A resident of Miami, FL, she was a member of the Florida Bar since 1981. She was a founding shareholder of Ruiz, PA, where she specialized in business, real estate and international law. She is survived by her mother, Peggy Cheezem of Florence, SC, formerly Greenwood; her sisters and brother, Kathy Henderson (Keith) of Marion, SC, Jo Abney of Atlanta, GA, and Jim Cheezem (Patty) of Greenville, SC; nieces Sylvia Abney (Chris Brasel) and grand-niece Leila Brasel-Abney of Portsmouth, VA, and Sarah Henderson of Charleston, SC. 'cap' Christian, 27, of 326 Sullivan died Wednesday, Oct. 2, 2013 in Marion, Va. The family is at the home. Services will be announced by Robinson Son Mortuary Inc. Grover Culbertson Grover Hughey Culbertson, 88, former resident of Church Street in Ninety Six, husband of Margaret Smith Culbertson, died October 2, 2013 at Self Regional Medical Center.

Born in Greenwood, July 4, 1925, he was a son of the late George W. and Bessie Hollingsworth Culbertson. He was a US Marine Corps Veteran of World War II, former Fireman for the City of Greenwood and retired from Monsanto of Greenwood as Security Supervisor. Mr. Culbertson was a member of Bethlehem Union Church in Waterloo, American League Post No.

20 and the Lakelands Marine Corps League Detachment 1112. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Grover Culbertson and wife Brenda and George Franklin Culbertson and wife Margie, all of Greenwood; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Bethlehem Union Church, with Rev. Bobby Davis officiating.

Burial with Military Honors will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Deacons of Bethlehem Union Church. The body is at Blyth Funeral Home and will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. Saturday. The family is at the home of Randy and Brenda Culbertson, 115 Woodcrest Street, and will receive friends at the church from 10 to 11 Saturday morning.
