WILLIE FREEMAN GREER Willie Freeman, husband of Elzo Ballenger Freeman, of Route 8, Suber Road, man of Fort Ord, Calif, and Alfred Coleman of Greenwood; four daughters, Lynease and Regina Coleman of Ninety Six. Arietta and Beatrice Coleman of Fayetteville, N.C.; his stepfather, Jeff Lewis of Saluda two sisters, Mrs.

Gladys Dorn of Edgefield and Mrs. Mary Lewis of Saluda; five grandchildren. Services will be Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Saluda. Butler and Sons Funeral Home of Saluda is in charge.

ELGIN COLEMAN NINETY SIX Elgin Coleman, 45, of Route 1, Porter Drive, died suddenly on He was born in Saluda County, a son of the late Will Coleman and Beatrice Coleman Lewis. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, Saluda, and an employee of Sloan Plant. Surviving are seven sons, Jesse G. Coleman of Chappells. Stanley L.

Coleman of Saluda, Preston, Elgin Jr. and Leon Coleman of Ninety Six. Wayne Cole MRS. EDNA McCLAIN McCORMICK Mrs. Edna Nichols McClain, 62, of Virginia Avenue, widow of Henry C.

McClain, died Sunday at Self Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manning, Aug. 7, 1918, she was a daughter of the late Henry H. and Ethel Garrett Nichols. She was a Baptist.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. James C. (Barbara) Ridgeway and Mrs. W.G. (Peggy) Beckom of Greenwood; two sisters, Mrs.

Rosa Wingate and JESSE R0SSER CALHOUN FALLS Jesse Carroll Rosser, 80, husband of Lillie Shiflet rosser, of 502 Darlington died Friday. Born in Elbert County, Ga. he was a retired textile worker and a member of United Methodist Church of Calhoun Falls. Also surviving are five daughters, Dorothy Baldwin of Fletcher, N.C, Sara Evans of Calhoun Falls, Betty Jo Horton of Abbeville, Carolyn B. Evans of Elber-ton, Ga.

and Martha Jean Scott of Atlanta, five sons, J.C. Rosser Jr. of Abbeville, James William Jackie Ray and James R. Rosser of Calhoun Falls; two sisters, Nettie Edmonds of Alvin, Texas and Eula Edwards of Calhoun Falls a brother, Marvin Rosser of Elberton, 19 grandchil JEFF PITTS LAURENS James Franklin (Jeff) Pitts, 82, of 114 Moreland died Friday in Laurens District Hospital. A native of Laurens County, he was a son of the late Edward E.

and Maggie Redden Pitts. He was the founder of Pitts Welding Shop and a member of First Presbyterian Church, Laurens. Surviving are his wife, Ber-nice Coats Pitts; a son, Elwyn (Jack) Pitts of Laurens; three sisters, Mrs. Wil Lou West and Mrs. Lois Dawson of Greenville ancLMrs.

Hattie Rogers of Cayc-e; two grandchildren; five great-grandchildren. Services were Sunday. Kennedy Funeral Home was in charge. Memorials may be made to Friendship Presbyterian Church Cemetery fund or the building fund of First Presbyterian Church, Laurens. CLARENCE ANDRUS DUE WEST Clarence George Andrus, 86, died today at Laurens Nursing Home.

He was born in Meriden, a soq of the late Prank George and Helen Smith Andrus. He was a veteran of World War a member of Due West A.R.P. Church and was a retired meteorologist. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Barbara Smith Andrus of Due West; a son, Paul Grier Andrus of Columbus, Ohio; three grandchildren.

Services will be Tuesday at 3 p.m. at Due West A.R.P. Church with Dr. Charles Edward and Dr. Will Orr officiating.

Memorials may be made to Due West A.R.P. Church or Erskine College. The body is at Harris Funeral Home, Abbeville. ABRAM PENN JOHNSTON Abram Chris MRS. ARTIE BAGWELL EASLEY Mrs.

Artie Holder Bagwell, 91. of 104 Buddin widow of George Oscar Bagwell, died Saturday. Born in Pickens County, she was a member of First Pentecostal Holiness Church. Surviving are two sons, Wiliam C. Bagwell of Greenville and Henry F.

Bagwell of Easle-y five daughters, Mary McDonald of Greenwood, Alice Ellison, Ethel Howard, Margie Roper and Lorine Hall of Easley; two brothers, Roy Holder of Greenville and Ernest P. Holder of Liberty; two sisters, Mrs. U.T. Griffin and Mrs. L.A.

Gil-strap of Easley; 32 grandchildren; 66 great grandchildren; 16 great great-grandchildren. Services were today at 4 p.m. at Pickens View Wesleyan Church. The family is at the home of a daughter, Lorine Hall, 201 Carolyn Road, Easley. Today This day Good afternoon.

MRS. MARY WILLIAMS Mrs. Mary Anna Williams of 202 Sullivan St. died today at Self Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Greenwood County, a daughter of the late Henry and Hester Palmore She was a member of Bailey Bethel A.M.E.

Church, Callison. Surviving are her husband, Clinton Williams of New York City; five sons, Grady, John and Willie Harrison of Greenwood, Robert Yeldell of Callison and Julian Harrison of McCormick; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Joynes and Mrs. Rosa Harrison of New York City; three adopted sons, James and Jefferson Lag roone of Greenwood and Robert Lagroone of Callison; an adopted daughter, Mrs. Eloise Daniel of Greenwood 43 grand children; 30 greatgrandchildren; six great -greatgrandchildren.

Born in Greenwood County, he was a son of Marie Kinard Moyd of Ninety Six and the late Daniel Livingston Moyd. He was vice president and co-owner of Beautyguard Manufacturing a member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, Greenville County Home Builders dren; three greatgrandchildren. Services were Sunday at 3 p.m.

at Parker-White Funeral Home. Burial was in Bethlehem Methodist Cemetery in Elbert County, Ga. The family is at the home. JOHNNY WATSON Services for Johnny Watson were today at 2 p.m. at Flint Hill Baptist Church with the Rev.

Walter (Ella Mae) Jackson and Mrs. Edsel (Sylvia) Thomas of Johnston and Mrs. Edward (Margaret) Satcher of Ward; a brother, Charlie E. Penn of Augusta, two sisters, Mrs. Aminee P.

Exum of Lithonia, Ga. and Miss Lula Maye Penn of Richmond, seven grandchildren. Services were today at 4 p.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church. Clark-Bland Funeral Home was in charge.

Forecast MRS. MARTHA WHITEHEAD DECATUR, Ga. Mrs. Martha George Lucas Whitehead, 88, widow of Henry McGhee Whitehead, died Sunday in Decatur. She was born in Talbot County, Ga.

and was a member of First United Methodist Church of Decatur. She was also a member of Dakalb County Council on Aging, the Council of Clubs and Tower Racqueters. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Martha Davis of Decatur. Mrs.

Mary Eubanks of Greenwood, C. and Mrs. Nancy Abercrombie of Marietta; a brother, Jess Payne Lucas of Hateville, five grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, Decatur.

Janie Robinson Funeral Home was in charge. RAY ADAMS SR. EDGEFIELD Thomas Ray Adams 46. died Sunday at an Augusta. hospital.

Born in Edgefield County, he was a son of Mrs. Ida Casey Adams and the late James T. Adams. He was owner and operator of Ray's Quick Shop at Johnston. Surviving are his wife, Mrs.

Ann Turner Adams; a son, Thomas Ray Adams Jr. of Edgefield; a daughter, Mrs. Pamela Cook of Trenton; his mother of Trenton; four brothers, L.D. (Shorty) James H. and Charles L.

(Doc) Adams of Greenwood and Ronald L. Adams of Vauc-luse; two sisters. Mrs. John R. (Lois) Woods of Greenwood and Mrs.

Jack (Joyce) Quattlebaum of Lexington: two grandchildren. Services were today at 4 p.m. at Edgefield Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Sunset Garden Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home was in charge. BILL STILL CAROLINA BEACH, N.C. William Marshall Bill Still Jr. 45, of Cape Fear Boulevard, died Sunday at V.A. Hospital in Fayetteville, N.C.

He was born in Charleston County, May 22, 1935, a son of W.M. Sr. and Bessie Davis Still. He retired in 1972 in Minot, N.D. as U.S.

Air Force Staff Sergeant after 24 years of service, part of which was in Vietnam. He was a residential con of Cynthia Sudduth Blackburn, died Saturday at Self Memorial Hospital. Born in Lincolnton, he was a retired employee of Greenwood Mills Mathews Plant, and was a Baptist. Surviving are his wife of the home; two sons, William Wayne Blackburn of Silver Springs, Md. and Thomas Anthony Blackburn of the home; two grandchildren.

Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harley Funeral Home with the Rev. Ansel Boggs officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James and Fred Smith, Donny and David Sudduth, Leroy Sweat, Michael McGaha, John Allen McCuen and Silas Moore.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 tonight. Association and Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association. He was an Army veteran and a graduate of Clemson University. Lillie Ruth Hawthorne and the late Cleophus Jackson. She was a member of Mount Pisgah Baptist Church and was a former member of the Advisory Council at Blake Elementary School. Surviving are her mother of the home; her husband. FIRE DEPARTMENT The following was taken from reports of the Greenwood Fire Department: A fire was reported at the intersection of Janeway and Grace Street in a vacant lot. Damage was limited to the grass The fire is believed to have been caused by a cigarette. POLICE DEPARTMENT The following was taken from reports of the Greenwood Police Department Police received a call that the alarm at Southside Junior High School was ringing Upon arriving at the school, officers discovered a broken window leading to the cafeteria Nothing was reported missing A Percival Street resident reported that the keys had been taken from the school bus parked in his yard.

A man reported that he was attacked while walking on Gage Street. He was cut on the head and face and stabbed in the right shoulder While on patrol, off icers discovered a window had been broken out of a business on Maxwell Avenue. Entry was not gained. Officers on patrol found that a concrete block had been thrown through the windshield of a dump truck parkedin the Green-wood Plaza parking lot. A Pearl Street resident ported that someone tried to gain entry to his house through the back door.

Police received a call that a car had run off Sweetwater Road and into a yard Upon arrival, police found the car and six bags of green plant-like substance believed to be marijuana The driver of the car was charged with driving too fast for conditions, and possession of marijuana wth intent to distribute SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT The following was taken from reports of the Greenwood Coun ty Sheriff 's Department An employee of Piedmont TEC reported that 12 gallons of gas valued at $15 had been taken from his tank while his car was in the parking lot A resident of Route 11 re ported that someone tried to break into his house by pulling the plaster surrounding his air conditioner away from the window. A woman reported that when she returned to her car in The Depot parking lot, she found all four of her tires slashed and flat.
