William Douglas Hamer of Bennettsville, was married Saturday to First Lt. John Townsend Stevens, of Charleston and Sumter. Mrs. Stevens graduated from Lander College and has been teaching in Sumter. Now stationed at Shaw Air Force Base, Lt.

Cecile K. Smathers opened the program by playing piano prelude, "He Shall Feed His Flock" and "Pastorale" (Handel): Then they group sang song of raise, "While Shepherds Watched Their Flock." followed by a vocal solo, "A Polish Carol," Mrs. E. W. Roberts, Jr.

The offertory, "A Medley of Christmas Carols" WAS played by Mrs. C. A. Smith, followed by the group singing "Oh Come, All Ye Faithful." The concluding number was a solo, "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" (Handel) by Miss Evelyn Martin. During the social hour the hostesses served white fruit cake, salted nuts, and coffee.

Our Flock Bird Club Given Party Members of our Flock Bird Club at Harris School were entertained at a Christmas party Thursday night at the YMCA by Mrs. Gray Moore and Mrs. Nat Watson, representing the Tulip Garden Club which sponsors the junior organization. A number of games and contests were conducted with prizes awarded. Christmas carols were sung.

The students sang "Happy Christmas To You" as gifts were presented to Mrs. J. L. Tedards, teacher of the class, and Bill Sandell, general secretary of the YMCA. Refreshments of hot dogs, drinks, candies and chips were served.

Smith's mother, Mrs. Eugene Power. Troop Number 71 of the Boy Scouts was reorganized here last week with Mason Speer as the scoutmaster. His assistants will be Duncan Carmichael, Tommy Chandler, and Robert Keith. Robert became an Eagle scout several years ago.

Mrs. Mary C. Thomas, of Charleston, is spending the holidays with her mother, Mrs. James Chalmers. J.

A. Ramey, Dolphus Newell, a. James Chalmers visited W. A. Calvert at Oliver General Hospital in Augusta Sunday.
