Obituaries Tuesday, August 25, 2009 Willetta Armentrout Willetta Lois Waddell Armentrout, 87, formerly of 2510 McCormick Highway, widow of Dale Willis Armentrout, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009 at University Hospital, Augusta, GA. She was born in Anniston, AL, and was a former member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Surviving are children, Ken Murrell; Freddy LaMar Murrell; Jerry Waters; Byron Armentrout and Barbara Gilmer, both of Honea Path; Joyce Powers and Linda Letterman of Newberry; nine grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will I be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Greenwood Memorial Gardens, with the Rev. Dennis Cook and Rev. James R. Lollis officiating.

Born in Saluda County and a daughter of the late Sidney and Mozelle Bush Shealy, she was the wife of Luke Jefferson Bartley. She was a homemaker and was a charter member of Saluda Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Luke Jefferson Bartley of the home, two sons and a daughter in-law, Kenneth Wade Bartley of Saluda and Jeffrey Smith and Connie Bartley of Saluda and two grandchildren, Austan Jeffrey Bartley and Morgan Blaire Bartley. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening at Ramey Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009 at Saluda Baptist Church, with Rev. Van Pigate officiating. Interment will follow in Red Bank Baptist Church Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Saluda Baptist Church, 112 West Wheeler Circle, Saluda, SC. 29138. Gladys McCarson Bradberry GREENVILLE Gladys. McCarson Bradberry, 93, of Greenville, wife of the late Hugh Bradberry, died Friday, Aug. 21, 2009.

Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late William Jacob McCarson and Ila Batson McCarson. Mrs. Bradberry worked for Poe Mill and American Spinning. She was of the Baptist Faith. She is survived by Jerry Bradberry and her much loved daughter-in-law, Patsy Bradberry; and many loving family members and friends.

Mrs. Bradberry was predeceased by a sister, Nina Gibson, and two brothers, Ansel and Robert "Bobby" McCarson. A graveside service will be at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 25, 2009 at Woodlawn Memorial Park.

23, 2009 at the age of 70, after a courageous battle fighting leukemia. She was born on July 26, 1939 in Pittsburgh and married her husband of 49 years, John, at Sts. Simon and Jude Church in Scott Township, PA. A graduate of the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, Donna worked as a fashion illustrator for many years. She was an accomplished artist, an avid gardener and a devout animal lover.

She is survived by her devoted husband, John J. Caputo; brother Peter and his wife, Peggy; son Dr. Gregg Caputo and his wife, Denise; daughter Dr. Traci Lennon and her husband, Andy; 'son Dr. Christopher Caputo and his wife, Dee Dee; seven grandchildren; and three nieces.

The Caputo family will receive visitors at the James McAlister Funeral Home, 1620 Savannah Charleston, on Aug. 26 from 6 to 8. A Mass of the Resurrection will be at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, 120 Broad Charleston, on Aug. 27 at 10.

21, 2009 at Self Regional Medical Center. Born in Greenwood, she was the daughter of the late John Louden and the late Alma Hughey Louden. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She was also a former member of Eastern Star No. 282.

She was formerly married to Augustus Covington Sr. of Greenwood. She was preceded in death by one sister, Johnnie Mae Louden Campbell and a brother, Leamon Louden. She leaves to cherish her memories, her BESSIE L. husband of GORDON Philadelphia; one stepson, Augustus (Kathy) Covington Jr.

of Columbia, SC; two daughters, Patrice (Harlin Sr.) Thompson of Columbia: and Veronica Covington of Greenwood; two stepdaughters, Zia Gordon of Philadelphia and Brandy Gordon of Atlanta, GA; two brothers, John B. Kelley, 57, of New Philadelphia, died Saturday, Aug. 22, 2009 at his home following an extended illness. Darrell was a truck driver for Trucking for many years. Born Nov. 10, 1951 in Greenwood, SC, he' was a son of Doris Reynolds Kelley Corbin of Greenwood, SC, and the late Doyle Kelley.

Darrell was an avid NASCAR fan who enjoyed fishing, working on cars and riding his motorcycle. He was also an Army veteran. Born in Macon County, Cowee Community in Franklin, NC, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Willburn Reid Sr. and Cora Lucille Jones Reid. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elberton, where she was a Sunday School teacher for many years. She taught school for 13 years and owned and operated Hardware, with her husband. William F. Wingard MYRTLE BEACH Rev. William, F. Wingard, 82, went to be with his Heavenly Father on Monday, Aug. 24, 2009, at his home following an extended illness.

Rev. Wingard was born March 4, 1927, in Greenwood, SC, a son of the late Rev. Muller R. Wingard and Jim Ella Lewis WinWILLIAM F. gard.

WilWINGARD liam Muller Wingard, his son, Rev. Henry S. Wingard, his brother and Mattie Ruth Wingard Saine, his sister, predeceased him. Rev. Wingard graduated from Newberry College in 1949 and the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary in Columbia, SC, with a Master of Divinity Degree in 1952.

He was a student assistant at Christ Lutheran Church in Columbia, from 1949-1950 and Pastor of Christ Lutheran from 1952-1955. He became Mission Developer and Pastor of St. Philip's Lutheran Church, (Myrtle Beach, SC) in November of 1955. He retired after thirty-two years as Pastor in May of 1987. During his ministry, he was a preacher for six Preaching-Teaching Missions in North and South Carolina, was host pastor for two conventions of the S.C.

Synod and served on numerous S.C. Synod committees. Rev. Wingard served on numerous committees and boards including, Newberry College Alumni Board, Myrtle Beach Ministerial Association, Campground Ministry, Mobile Meals, Helping Hand, Associated Charities, Myrtle Beach Jaycees, United Way of Horry County, Civitan International and Horry County Red Cross. He was a registered scouter for 43 years, serving on occasions as Scoutmaster, Troop Committee Chairman, and member of Cub Pack Committee.

Bill enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1945, He later was commissioned in the U.S. Air Force Reserves and was assigned to the 354 TAC Fighter Wing at Myrtle Beach AFB. In 1978, he was promoted to Colonel prior to his retirement. He was a Chaplain in the U.S.

Air Force Reserves for twenty-nine years. Survivors include his wife of sixty-two years, Marguerite T. Wingard and a daughter, Amy T. Wingard, both of Myrtle Beach; a brother-in-law, Harold Saine; a a sister-in-law, Mildred Davis; a niece, Carolyn S. Yost; four nephews, Jim and John Saine and Steve and Scott Davis.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 27 at St. Philip's Lutheran Church, with The Rev. Henry M.

Moody Jr. officiating. Burial will follow with military honors at Southeastern Memorials Gardens. Visitation will be from Wednesday, Aug. 26 from 5:30 p.m.
