4C-rP, Index-Journal, Jun 12, 1994 ii.niiii' i LOIS MICHELLE DURHAM Clcmson hires search firm to help find president CLEMSON Clemson University has hired an executive search firm to find a successor to Max Lennon, who announced his resignation in February. The firm, KomFerry International, will help "expand the pool of candidates," according to trustee Louis Batson chairman of the presidential screening committee. "KornFerry International is a leading management consulting firm, and they can provide a valuable resource to those of us who haven't been involved in a presidential search for many years," Batson said. "The firm has a particularly good track record with bringing forward qualified women and minority candidates, and can help us extend our search to current college and university presidents who might be reluctant to apply." Batson said the university has also solicited input from its major constituent groups, such as the Alumni National Council, Clemson University Foundation Board of Directors, Board of Visitors, President's Advisory Council and IFTAY Board of Directors. Internal groups such as the Faculty Senate, Classified Staff Affairs Commission, President's Commission on the Status of Women, Extension Senate and student government are also being urged to become actively involved in the search process.

The job description requires them to be excellent drivers, never failing to observe traffic laws or safety requirements. They are expected to perform these duties with little room for error. Also, bus drivers sometimes have to take the roles of disciplinarians, first-aid givers, guardians, and advisors to name a few of their many responsibilities. "The Greenwood School District 50 Board of Trustees and administration is proud of the job that bus drivers do daily for children and recently sponsored an Awards banquet to recognize them for their service," said a District 50 spokesman. Drivers received recognition and awards during the banquet.
